Funding

Industrial Project Program
The NCCR MUST Management selects and funds with true seed money so called “industrial projects”. Such a project can be submitted by an NCCR MUST PI together with a project leader/CTO of a company (small or large). The “industrial project” allows the PI to carry out the work necessary to be able to submit an Innosuisse project proposal at a later stage. To apply please visit the Industrial Project Program pages.

InterMUST-AoW PostDoc program
NCCR MUST introduced an Inter-MUST award for female postdocs at the beginning of Phase I, for research projects supervised by two or more PIs in MUST. In Phase III the InterMUST-AoW PostDoc program has a budget of 280 kCHF, which means that 2 awards are available for two years funding, with MUST paying 50% of the postdoc salary. To apply please visit the Inter-MUST Women Postdoc Award pages.

MUST Theory Fellows (MTF)
In Phase II the MUST DC developed the MUST Theory Fellow (MTF) grants to increase theory support for experimental groups, primarily focused on condensed matter and attosecond processes. In Phase III these awards continue with limited funding available to verify theoretical or experimental results by paying a lump sum (local Postdoc salary for the duration of the project) to an international theory group as a compensation for a defined task (mandate) supporting experimental and/or theory research by MUST-groups. In Phase III the MTF program has a budget of 75 kCHF. To apply please visit the MUST Theory Fellow pages.

FP-RESOMUS (funded by the European Commission)
FP-RESOMUS, a Fellowship Program of the NCCR MUST and the Cluster of Excellence RESOLV, will fund up to 50 fellowships for postdoctoral students employed in the NCCR MUST and the German Cluster of Excellence RESOLV. It has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 801459, and runs from April 2019 to September 2023. It is part of the COFUND scheme, which aims to stimulate regional, national or international programmes to foster excellence in researchers' training, mobility and career development, spreading the best practices of Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions.
