Workshop on an accelerator based source for nonlinear THz science at SwissFEL
This short 1-day workshop explores the scientific drivers for an accelerator based THz source at SwissFEL. Being able to excite materials with THz pulses of variable wavelength and bandwidth, and study the temporal behavior of electronic and structural degrees of freedom, is of great importance. The workshop has sessions that address
infrared optics including creation and new opportunities,
static control of materials properties,
theory of the static and the dynamic states of matter, and
how we can dynamically control them at THz frequencies.
Organizing Committee:
Gabriel Aeppli, Paul Scherrer Institute
Rafael Abela, Paul Scherrer Institute
Urs Staub, Paul Scherrer Institute
Steven Johnson, ETH Zurich
Andrea Cavalleri, Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter
