New trends in theory for experiments at advanced light sources

Date Mi, 29.11.2017 - Fr, 01.12.2017
Time 09:00 - 18:00
Speaker
Location European XFEL, Schenefeld / CFEL, Hamburg
Program The workshop is focused on recent developments in theoretical methods used for interpretation and designing experiments at novel large scale facilities: free-electron lasers (FELs) and synchrotron-radiation light sources.

The 3 day workshop will be led by 24 presentations by invited international scientists at the head of their field. The topics of the workshop will cover valence-band photoemission spectroscopy; core-level spectroscopy; advanced theories; spectroscopy of strongly correlated systems out of equilibrium; dynamics of topological materials; atomic, molecular and optical physics as well as ultrafast structural dynamics.

The workshop will take place in two locations:

29th of November in European XFEL, Schenefeld,

30th of November - 1st of December in CFEL, Hamburg.

Do not miss a unique possibility to visit experimental facilities at the European XFEL and DESY campus during the guided tours!

The workshop organizing committee:

M. Altarelli, E. Gorelov, R. Kurta, A. Lichtenstein (Chair), S. Molodtsov, R. Santra
