| Program | The development of X-ray Free Electron Lasers (XFEL’s) has allowed new types of experiments, especially in the ultrafast domain, hitherto impossible. Among these the high fluxes, short pulse durations (reaching the attosecond time scale) and coherence properties of the beam allow exciting non-linear X-ray experiments to be performed such as various wave mixing schemes, multiphoton absorption, stimulated Raman, etc. Following a kick-off meeting that took place on Sept. 16, 2020, we feel the moment is ripe to gather the larger community in a workshop to present results and future projects involving X-ray non-linear phenomena. The main goal of this event will be to propose activities/projects regarding the development of nonlinear X-ray spectroscopy. We strongly encourage you, especially young scientist, to feel free to propose new scientific ideas to pursue. Talks regarding current status of X-ray nonlinear science and perspective talks will also be considered. Confirmed invited speakers include: D. Reis (PULSE Institute SLAC); T. Pfeiffer (MPI); K. Nelson (MIT); J. Rouxel (UC Irvine), C. Masciovecchio (FERMI); N. Rohringer (DESY/Hamburg); F. Stienkemeier (Uni Freiburg) and S. Mukamel (UC Irvine). The format will be that of contributed talks, each lasting 20 min (15+5 min). All the information can be found in the WavemiX workshop website (WavemiX2021). In the registration page you will find a "project template” document to be downloaded, filled and uploaded in the same page. This form is meant for proposing a project/activity within the network allowing other members to participate. It can either be a short or long term project about developing an existing experimental technique and/or the development of a new one. During Day 3, a round table will conclude the workshop. Open discussion between the members will help the WavemiX panel in identifying the short and long term roadmap of the network.
