Strong-field Physics and Attosecond Science

This is an ETH-Fast initiative

Chii-Dong Lin, Kansas State University, Manhatten, KN, USA

The first talk - 11.09.2012:
"Strong field Physics and Quantitative Rescattering Theory" will cover the basic ideas behind QRS and its validity and some applications in ATI spectra and in HHG.

Basic papers: QRS review - J. Phys. B43, 122001 (2010).
Full QRS papers on HHG, ATI and NSDI in Phys Rev. A80, 013401 (2009); A79, 033409 (2009); A82, 063417 (2010); respectively.

The 2nd talk - 12.09.2012:
"Attosecond Physics - the Promise and the Challenge" will start with a personal view on the topic and then go on to discuss what we have done in this area, including probing time-dependent studies of Fano resonances, XUV + IR studies of Fano resonances by electron and photon spectroscopy, and pulse shaping of XUV.

Some recent papers: Phys. Rev. A82, 035402 (2010); A84, 043411 (2010) and A85, 013409 (2012) and a preprint.

Paper handsout and a visitor certificate are available for registered people.
Additional handouts will be downloadable after the seminar.
