IONIGHT wins AXA Innovation Award
IONIGHT receives a Sfr. 50'000 IPP-project grant, and wins the 2013 AXA Innovation Award.
IONIGHT is a Spin-Off of the Space Research and Planetary Sciences Division of the University of Bern, Switzerland. The company IONIGHT is currently in the process of establishing itself, and will be situated in Bern, Switzerland. Its aim is in producing high performance Laser Ablation Ionization Mass Spectrometers (LIMS) designed for laboratory and field applications, building on the unique and proven technology designed for in-situ measurements of the chemical (elemental and isotopic) composition of soils and regolith of solar system objects, e.g. Moon, Planets, and Asteroids. The key innovation of the IONIGHT instruments is its miniaturization that allows for in-situ measurements, while maintaining the high performance of state of the art laboratory systems. The interdisciplinary IONIGHT-Team consists of experts from space physics, laser physics, economy, and geology.
The IONIGHT core team: Andreas Riedo, Davide Lasi, Mario Gruber, Jürg Jost, Manuel Ryser, and Géraldine Brügger.
