Federal Councillor (Bundesrat) Johann Schneider-Ammann visits the NCCR MUST

Header1
Bern, 28.08.2013 - Before the end of the year federal councillor Johann N. Schneider-Ammann will decide which 5 to 6 new NCCRs (from a total of 63 applications) will be funded with CHF 100 million for the first four years. In connection with this decision, he visited the NCCR MUST in Bern on invitation of the Swiss National Science Foundation, which was chosen (together with the NCCR Trade regulation) to represent the currently running NCCRs. The visit was a great occasion to showcase the work of the NCCR MUST, and a great success for our team.
On the occasion he also had a "hands-on" visit at the Fiber Lab of the Institute of Applied Physics, where he paid attention to the explanations of the involved researchers and showed high interest for the opportunities of technology transfer towards industry opened up by the optical fiber technology. The IAP fiber lab is actively supported by SWISSPHOTONICS.

The two new items give details on the visit (in German). The University of Bern news report includes a 6 minute video on the NCCR MUST (in German).
