Program | In the talk, an optical tweezer will be presented which I have built for my master's thesis. After a short historical introduction, I will describe the physical basics behind optical trapping and point out the difference in trapping dielectric or metallic particles. A simple mathematical model, which helped to design the optical tweezer, will be presented. The second part will focus on the experimental set-up, with emphasis on the generation of a radially polarized laser beam. In the last part, the results are presented and discussed. | |
